FAQ
An MBA is widely recognised as a leading qualification for professionals aiming to advance into senior and executive leadership roles.
The motivation to study an MBA often comes from different backgrounds. Professionals with non-economic education seek to strengthen their understanding of business, finance, and strategic management. At the same time, many participants with an economic or business degree also feel the need to update and deepen their knowledge, as traditional bachelor’s or master’s programmes are typically more academic in nature, while Executive MBA studies focus on practical application, strategic decision-making, and real managerial challenges.
In today’s rapidly evolving, increasingly complex VUCA environment, completing formal education in one’s early twenties is rarely sufficient for long-term leadership development. Executive education allows professionals to continuously adapt, broaden their perspective, and develop the skills required to lead organisations through uncertainty and change.
Beyond academic and professional development, the MBA experience provides significant value through peer learning and networking. Studying alongside experienced managers from diverse industries creates long-term professional relationships and a strong executive network.
By studying at the Faculty of Business Administration of the Prague University of Economics and Business, participants earn an accredited, globally recognised MBA degree aligned with international standards for executive education.
Accreditation is one of the key factors applicants should consider when selecting an MBA programme. It serves as an independent confirmation that the institution meets rigorous international standards in teaching quality, academic excellence, programme design, and relevance to business practice.
Accredited programmes are regularly evaluated by external bodies to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to high-quality standards. For applicants, accreditation provides assurance that the education they receive is recognised, credible, and comparable to leading international business schools.
The most respected global accrediting organisations include the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in the United States, EQUIS awarded by EFMD in Europe, and the Association of MBAs (AMBA) in the United Kingdom.
It is important to distinguish between programmes accredited directly by recognised international accreditation bodies and those that rely solely on partnerships with foreign universities. Direct accreditation by recognised institutions represents a significantly stronger guarantee of quality and international recognition.
Yes. Our MBA programme is among the few in the CEE region that hold internationally recognised Triple Crown accreditations, confirming the highest standards of management education. The Faculty of Business Administration at the Prague University of Economics and Business is the only faculty in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to hold AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA accreditations.
These accreditations confirm that our institution and its programme meet rigorous international standards in teaching quality, academic excellence, programme design, and relevance to business practice. They are awarded only after a comprehensive external evaluation and regular review.
AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA accreditation place our Faculty among a small group of internationally recognised business schools worldwide and confirm the global credibility of the degree.
An Executive MBA (EMBA) is designed for experienced professionals and managers who continue working while studying. Unlike traditional full-time MBA programmes, which are often aimed at early- to mid-career participants, the EMBA focuses on executives with significant managerial experience.
The structure of the EMBA allows participants to immediately apply new knowledge and frameworks in their professional environment, creating direct impact on their organisations.
The programme emphasises leadership development, strategic decision-making, and peer learning, where participants learn not only from faculty but also from the shared experience of fellow executives across industries.
The programme is built around intensive learning blocks designed specifically for the intensive working and family lives of executives. Participants meet in-person six times per year at the Faculty of Business Administration, Prague University of Economics and Business, allowing them to combine demanding professional roles with high-impact learning.
Each module follows a structured learning flow. Before every in-person session, participants attend an online preparatory meeting where key concepts and theoretical foundations are introduced, team assignments are explained, and participants are organised into working teams.
The in-person modules focus on interactive learning, practical application, discussion, and peer exchange. After each intensive session, participants meet again online to receive feedback on team assignments and reflect on their learning outcomes, ensuring continuous development and application in practice.
In addition to core academic modules, the programme includes skill seminars focused on leadership and executive capabilities, a Consulting project and Corporate workshop to take participants out of their industry bubbles, an International Field Trip combining academic lectures with company visits, and opportunities for additional international study experiences via an optional Elective course in destinations such as China or Switzerland.
The programme concludes with the preparation and defence of a Master’s Thesis or Business Project addressing a real managerial or strategic challenge.
Detailed information is available in the Program Structure section.
Executive education is fundamentally built on peer interaction, critical discussion, and the exchange of real managerial experience. Learning in an executive environment goes beyond theory — it is shaped by dialogue among experienced professionals who bring diverse industry perspectives and leadership challenges into the classroom.
In-person modules create the conditions for deeper reflection, higher engagement, and more dynamic problem-solving. They enable spontaneous discussion, immediate feedback, and stronger interpersonal connections, all of which significantly enhance learning outcomes.
Face-to-face interaction also plays a crucial role in building trust within the cohort, strengthening professional networks, and fostering long-term collaboration among participants. While online tools can effectively support preparation and follow-up activities, the depth of peer learning and executive-level exchange cannot be fully replicated in a purely virtual format.
