Why the People Around You Matter as Much as the Curriculum

When people think about an Executive MBA, they often focus on the curriculum. They expect to deepen their knowledge of finance, strategy, marketing, or leadership. While these elements undoubtedly matter, they are only part of the experience.

What truly defines the value of an Executive MBA is the people you learn alongside.

The 2025 Executive MBA cohort at the Faculty of Business Administration, Prague University of Economics and Business, brings together professionals with an average of 16 years of managerial experience. More than 60% of participants come from outside the Czech Republic, representing a wide range of industries, functions, and markets across Europe and beyond.

This diversity is not simply a demographic statistic. It fundamentally shapes the learning experience.

When a strategic challenge is discussed in the classroom, there is rarely a single correct answer. A Chief Financial Officer may approach the problem through the lens of risk and value creation. An entrepreneur may focus on agility and growth opportunities. An operations leader may prioritise execution and process efficiency, while a commercial executive may emphasise customer impact and market dynamics.

These different perspectives challenge assumptions and broaden horizons. Participants are encouraged to step outside their functional silos and reconsider how they approach decision-making within their own organisations.

The result is a learning environment that mirrors the complexity of today’s business world. Discussions become richer, case studies more relevant, and classroom debates more insightful because they are informed by real leadership experience.

This philosophy is reflected in the structure of our Executive MBA programme. We intentionally maintain a small cohort size to foster meaningful interaction and collaboration. Participants meet during six intensive in-person modules each year, working on real business cases in experienced, cross-cultural teams. They learn from faculty members who combine academic excellence with extensive senior business practice, ensuring that every discussion bridges theory and application.

Prague’s location at the heart of Europe further strengthens the international character of the programme, making it accessible to executives from across the region and beyond.

An Executive MBA is often described as an investment in knowledge. In reality, it is equally an investment in relationships, perspectives, and a professional network that continues to create value long after graduation.

Ten years from now, you may not remember every slide from every lecture. But you will remember the conversations that challenged your thinking, the colleagues who became trusted advisors, and the network that helped shape your leadership journey.

If you are looking for an Executive MBA experience that combines accreditations, academic rigour and the power of an exceptional cohort, we invite you to explore what our programme has to offer.

Applications for the second round of admissions for the 2026 intake are open until 31 August 2026.
