Meet our Executive MBA Lecturer: Ladislav Tyll. Strategy expert bringing international perspective and ESG leadership to the EMBA classroom

Dr. Ladislav Tyll, MBA, is one of the key lecturers in the Executive MBA programme at the Faculty of Business Administration, Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE), where he teaches Strategy. His work combines academic expertise, international teaching experience, and practical engagement with companies on strategic challenges.

Ladislav is an experienced lecturer, business consultant, and practitioner focused on corporate strategy, with strong expertise in international strategy and sustainability. Throughout his career, he has worked at the intersection of academic research and real-world business decision-making. His international academic perspective has been shaped by collaborations and teaching engagements with leading institutions, including HEC Paris and the University of St. Gallen.

At the Faculty of Business Administration, Ladislav serves as Vice-Dean for International Relations and Academic Director of the CEMS – Master in International Management programme, the faculty’s flagship international degree. The Prague CEMS programme has repeatedly achieved strong placements in international rankings and received recognition in global evaluations, including the Financial Times rankings. In this role, he contributes to strengthening the faculty’s international position and expanding its global academic partnerships.

A significant part of Ladislav’s work focuses on sustainability and integrating ESG principles into corporate strategy. Under his leadership, the Faculty of Business Administration introduced the first Czech ESG Rating. The rating provides companies with a structured framework for evaluating the quality of their ESG approach and non-financial reporting. It allows organizations to benchmark their performance, identify gaps, and translate sustainability principles into concrete strategic priorities. Companies that demonstrate outstanding ESG performance receive the ESG Excellence recognition.

Beyond academia, Ladislav is also actively involved in consulting and applied research projects conducted under the Faculty of Business Administration for corporate partners in the Czech market. Through these collaborations, he helps organizations address strategic questions related to international expansion, sustainability integration, and long-term competitiveness. This close connection between academic research and business practice ensures that insights developed at the faculty are directly relevant to real managerial challenges.

In the Executive MBA programme, Ladislav focuses on helping business leaders understand how strategy is developed and executed in uncertain and rapidly changing environments. His teaching combines classic strategic frameworks with contemporary challenges, such as shifts in globalization, sustainability pressures, and technological change. Participants are encouraged to apply strategic thinking not only through theoretical models, but also through discussion of real business cases and their own managerial experience.

By connecting an academic, data-driven approach with practical insight, Ladislav contributes to the Executive MBA’s mission of developing leaders who can navigate complexity and make strategic decisions with long-term impact.
