Welcoming the new Canadian Ambassador to the Czech Republic
In a similar vein to the 1939 Academy Award winning film, Mr. Jones Goes to Washington, a member of our EMBA Programme, Mr. Filip Vogel went to Canada. Well, at least the Canadian Embassy in Prague.
As our Faculty is a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic, we benefit greatly from the number of events organised by the Chamber not only related to business but cultural and social. Many of the latter events celebrate Canadian national holidays wherein expats are welcomed along with their Czech family and friends.
Filip was one of the participants to first meet the new Canadian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Her Excellency Madame Emily McLaughlin: Business Breakfast with the new Ambassador of Canada | Gocanada . As Canada has the third largest Czech population outside the country, the Embassy has supported the Czech people throughout its history – good times and those, not so good.
Our EMBA Programme seeks to offer opportunities of this nature to our participants to further their horizons outside the lecture room as well as their personal networks. As Mr. Vogel remarked, it was an enjoyable experience.
Thanks go to Jiri Krejca for helping us make this connection and to Richard Brunet-Thornton for inspiring this connection.
